I can’t believe that it’s August already, this summer is flying by so fast! Ever since traveling to Europe earlier this year, I’ve had a serious case of wanderlust. Though I can’t go half way across the world whenever the travel bug bites me, I can still satisfy my travel cravings and take a weekend trip to nearby cities! When theres a will, there’s a way
My blogger bestie Alyssa and I decided that its been a while since we’ve gone outside San Diego so we decided to take a day trip to L.A. to get our creative juices flowing. There is seriously so much to see and do in this city that I feel like I’m still constantly discovering new things every time I visit. As we were preparing for our trip, we were so excited when Pocky reached out to us to share our road trip experience as a part of their #PockyRoadTrips summer campaign!
After packing up our bags, cameras and road trip snacks, we were ready to hit the road! First stop was Communal Coffee in North Park, San Diego to pick up some coffee and a quick breakfast before we start our drive up. Two hours later we found ourselves in Venice Beach exploring the Venice Canal Historic District. It’s such a beautiful charming neighborhood to walk around, each house has it’s own personality and it’s all connected by the canals that ran through it.
After wandering through the canals we landed on Pacific Ave. to see the famous Venice sign! Warning it’s an extremely busy intersection, so to get a picture of it you have to be in the middle of the street unless you get there really early in the morning to beat the rush.
Venice is filled with artwork everywhere you turn, one of the mural walls that we wanted to see was the #lovewall on Abbot Kinney Blvd! It’s such a great spot for a photo op, we even saw a pair of Insta Famous Shiba Inus getting their photos snapped at the wall
After Venice, we drove 15 minutes north to Santa Monica to see the famous Santa Monica Pier! It was a hot summer day so everyone was just out relaxing and cooling off at the beach. After making our way through the sea of people (not going to lie – it’s extremely crowded) we made it to the end of the pier to take in the beautiful coastline.
It’s always so fun taking a road trip with friends! Endless random funny moments together are the best travel memories! Have any of you taken a road trip this summer? I would love to hear all about it! If you haven’t yet and need inspiration, Pocky has created a road trip travel guide with fun itineraries that cover coast to coast and is hosting a contest for a chance to win a Pocky Summer Prize Pack when you share your travel pictures using #PockyRoadTrips by August 14th!
Thank you all so much for reading and tagging along on our day trip to L.A! I hope you all are having the best summer yet!
Big thank you to Pocky for sponsoring this post!
