His & Her’s Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

Can you believe that Valentine’s Day is next week already?! This will be Johnny and I’s first year celebrating as husband and wife! We’re usually pretty casual when it comes to Valentine’s Day and like to spend quality time together eating a good meal like Phil’s BBQ (yum) and catching a movie! Even though we’re usually on the same page with how to celebrate Valentine’s Day, we still like to throw in the element of surprise with a gift for each other from time to time.

Westfield UTC Mall was sweet enough to reach out to give Johnny and I tours of two of their stores that would be perfect destinations to pick up Valentine’s Day gifts!

The Art of Shaving:

First stop on the tour was visiting The Art of Shaving. I’ve always walked past this store whenever I visit UTC with Johnny but never found ourselves going in because we always thought their products were for the extreme shavers whereas Johnny considered himself to be more basic. But after the store manager, Anthony gave us an introduction to their products and how they can be used, I realized that there is something for everyone regardless of the intensity of your shaving routine! (girls included!) He walked us through the wide range of skincare products they carry from pre-shave oil to post shave balms as well as a demo of how to use their shaving cream and brush! Did you know that their brushes are made of naturally antibacterial badger hair?

The staff at The Art of Shaving in Westfield UTC was extremely knowledgable and friendly! Johnny and I had no idea what to expect, so we really appreciated the time they took to walk us through the store and and to answer all of our questions! At the end of our visit Johnny picked up their Lemon Pre-shave oil and after shave balm which smells and feels amazing! If you love fresh citrus scents, this one’s for you! Also, if you happen to be a San Diego County native, something unique to the Westfield UTC store is that they offer in-house barber spa-services lead by their Master Barber Hugo! If you’re looking to help a loved one step up their skincare routine this Valentine’s Day, I would highly recommend checking out The Art of Shaving for their wide range of products and great customer service!

Godiva:

Next, we headed over to Godiva for some sweet treats! If you’re familiar with the layout of Westfield UTC you might remember that the store used to be located at another part of the mall near Williams Sonoma and Nordstrom. But with all of the new updates happening, Godiva now has a new beautiful home location and design located in the main plaza. The store’s atmosphere was extremely inviting and bright with delicious chocolate creations all around. We met up with James the store manager and he gave us a walk through of Godiva’s history, product offerings and showed us their amazing chocolate case display and hand-dipped chocolate strawberry station! He spoke with so much passion and knowledge about each chocolate creation and taught us about the process of making chocolate, the ingredients and even offered us some samples! Our favorites were the Midnight Swirl and Hazelnut Crunch! yumm!

If you’re looking for something sweet to give this Valentine’s Day, I highly recommend visiting James and his team over at Godiva UTC! They have a huge selection of treats, from gourmet pretzels to chocolate covered strawberries and more! You can even pick out pre-selected boxes of chocolates or go create your own custom box and fill it with your favorites!
